Texas TEKS ELAR Standards

The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for English Language Arts and Reading set out what Texas students learn in each grade and course. They are organized into seven strands, and they treat listening, speaking, reading, writing and thinking as integrated skills. Under each knowledge and skills statement are the student expectations teachers plan and assess against.
